Update 7/9

ARTWALK: The Artwalk was a mess and I apologize.  We were supposed to
have street spaces, we didn’t.  It was supposed to be one lot, it
wasn’t.  The second lot came as a result of their mistake.  True to
their word the LAPD forced out every truck between 3rd and 7th.  Going
forward, we are going to procure our own lots without their help.   I
would like to get started on this today, but I need some help.  Is
anyone interested in forming a Artwalk lot sub-committee?  The police
are going to continue aggressive enforcement so we need to get a lot
worked out for next Artwalk.  The trucks that were on the lower level
lot will have priority at the next Artwalk.  If there are two lots,
they will have their choice, if there is only one they will have their
choice of location on the lot.  I think it’s only fair considering
that their location was hard to see and not very well attended.
Should we cap the amount of trucks for Artwalk in the Association
lots?  The owner of the yesterday’s street level lot would like to
have us there again next month.  Is that lot suitable?  I would like
to hear your feed back on this…
LITTLE TOKYO LOT:  This lot starts on 7/19, but we need to start
promoting it soon.  I have a flyer that I’ll get to print on Monday.
The lot is $50 a day, but $10 (assoc. booking fee) for your first
visit in the first month of operation.  I will start scheduling this
on Monday when I pick up the completed lease agreement from them.  The
location of the lot is 120 Judge John Aiso Street 90012. http://tinyurl.com/38xbhsp
MAIN STREET LOT:  The owner of the lot wants $100 a visit and the lot
can only be open M-Th 6-10pm.   I am still working on a deal that
would involve the Victorian house (the bar adjacent to the lot)
helping with some of the costs, since they will be profitting heavily
from your attendance.  Please give me some feedback.
MONROVIA LOT:  This lot is ready to go.  The address is 800 Royal Oaks
Dr, Monrovia, CA 91016.  I suggest that you take a look at it during
lunch before you spring for the Business License.  There is currently
a luncheros truck there that will be gone as soon as we start booking
trucks there.  From what I understand there are over 400 employees in
the building.  If you do go check out the space, please report back.
TASTE OF THE WESTSIDE:  The organizer’s have reached out to everyone
that they wanted for this event.
YOUTH TAKE OVER FEST:  They are still taking bookings for trucks:
Loose Ends <looseendsevents@yahoo.com>  The event is on August 21st.
CENTURY LOT:  When you attend the Century lot, please let me know how
many tickets you had.  The organizer likes to know so she can update
her committee.  I will be limiting the amount of visits to the Century
lot to once a month starting in September and raising the price to
$30.  The added cost is to deal with the health department permit we
need to pay for.
RED BULL FLUTAG: The organizer told me that Long Beach was non-
responsive concerning truck attendance.  This means this is not a sure
thing, and the organizer believes that LB will try to go around him to
book trucks or other food vendors.  I’m reaching out to them now.
ISSUES WITH THE CITY:  Things are moving along.  The Transportation
committee has delayed the hearings on the LaBonge motion until
August.  Their rhetoric has softened, but we must continue to keep the
issue in the public eye.
SCMFVA COMMISSARY:  Still working on the contract.
